CAP 437 Helideck Lighting A known problem with offshore helideck lighting systems has been identified and defined through a questionnaire-based survey of line pilots. A new scheme has been established empirically through a series of dedicated flight trials. A specification for the new scheme has been developed through the application of lighting theory to the flight trials results and a CAP 437 rated system has been designed, manufactured and tested which meets the specification. The CAP 437 system was installed ready for in-service trials during the winter 2008/9 night flying season which, it is expected, will validate the specification. Once validated, the specification will be incorporated in the guidance material. Zone 1 Ex em HDL 100 The HDL 100 is simple to install and straightforward to maintain. It has a rugged construction and is available with a pole mount option as well as an emergency version. The unit is easily relampable with a detached lamp envelope and mains isolation is not required during the process. It has short gaskets for proven ingress protection and can be mounted in any attitude. It features a reflector compatible with Unistrut channel support systems and accessories and features continuous monitoring of flourescent lamps to ensure safe end-of-life shutdown by electronic ballast in accordance with HSE safety notice 8/05. Other features include overvoltage protection 320V for 1 minute, electronic control gear for instant operation and reduced running costs and high frequency electronic ballast suitable for operation at lower temperatures. Zone 1 Ex de Floodlight This floodlight is available with 150W, 250W and 400W discharge lamps or a 500W max tungsten halogen lamp. The unit is simple to install and maintain and comes with integral control gear and a wide choice of voltage options. The unit is constructed of marine grade aluminium which makes it lightweight and very robust. The external fasteners are made from A4 stainless steelthe lamps from toughened soda lime giving the light a T rating of T2 and T3. It can be used with twin arc lamps and comes with a wide beam reflector. Modular LED Luminaire/Floodlight/Zone 1 Ex em Modular construction allows these modules to be interlinked with each other to provide greater light output. They can be used as a single unit, small floodlight or bulkhead or be linked together to replicate a large 250W/400W floodlight. Each module uses 48 off 1.2W LEDs with a low power consumption from the integrated power supply. The unit has a rugged construction, is resistant to vibration and has been photometrically tested. The units are supplied with 2 cable entries and are IP66 and IP67. Options for the floodlight include a wire guard for extra protection, infra red variants and wide, medium or narrow beam light outputs. Zone 1 Ex em Portable / Temporary / Permanent / Linkable Luminaire This IP 68 rated compact fluorescent lamp has a wide voltage range (24V to 254V) and the available wattages are: 2 x 18W, 2 x 36W, 2 x 58W, 4 x 18W, 4 x 36W and 4 x 58W with the 2 lamp version available as Bi Pin or Single Pin. It can be supplied with direct cable entries or fitted with plugs/sockets to allow luminaires to be instantly linked in series (plug and play). Emergency versions are available fot the T8 lamp variant. It has aluminium or polycarbonate end caps, short gaskets for proven ingress protection and the ability to mount the lamp in any attitude. It is rugged and easily relamped. Continuous monitoring of fluorescent lamps ensures safe end of life shutdown by electronic ballast in accordance with HSE safety notice 8/05. It features electronic control gear for instant operation and reduced running costs and high frequency electronic ballast suitable for operation at lower temperatures. Zone 2 EEx nA Fluorescent Luminaire / Emergency Fluorescent The zone 2 EEx nA Fluorescent Luminaire is designed from a high specification of corrosion resistant glass reinforced polyester body and high impact polycarbonate diffuser to give the highest protection to ATEX standards for EEx nA applications. The luminaire features stainless steel diffuser retaining clips and zinc steel gear tray for rapid installation and easy maintenance. Built to high specifications and SIRA certified it comes in 18W, 36W 58W single or twin lamps. Zone 2 EEx nR Floodlight - HDL 227 The HDL 227, SIRA certified marine grade aluminium alloy floodlight with high performance photometrics is designed to withstand higly corrosive and zone 2 hazardous area environments. The EEx nR restricted breathing floodlight is constructed from a compact and lightweight design and is available in 150W, 250W and 400W high pressure sodium or metal halide. |
