PrimeLog Data logger system

PrimeLog is a comprehensive data logger system for use in a wide variety of water industry applications. The PrimeLog range consists of single, two and four channel data loggers. Communication is via local connection to a PC or hand-held PDA. Remote communications alarm facilities are provided by telephone loggers. One range of data loggers can be used for many water system applications, including: district, domestic and leakage flow-metering, hydraulic network analysis, pressure/PRV monitoring, rainfall, open-channel flow (weirs, etc), reservoir and bore-hole depth, over-flow detection and functioning time of pumps.

Socrates Night-Flow and leakage analysis

Socrates is an instrument for analysing night-flows, leakage and legitimate customer use, in water distribution systems, Socrates uses patented autocorrelation techniques, plus artefact filtering, to carry out high accuracy surveys of district meter areas. With its diagnostic precision Socrates probes deep into night-flows to reveal the lowest baseline flows, pointing leakage engineers towards real areas of high leakage. This is very useful on DMAs with trade users who are using water intermittently. When used on smaller District Meter Areas Socrates shows baseline leakage with user events clearly superimposed. This enables the accurate determination of Company specific legitimate night-use values. Socrates forms a statistical model over several weeks. On larger DMAs the baseline leakage is deduced from this information. Socrates collects thousands of data values per night. After removing measurement system error, the data is autocorrelated to find its micro-period. This is the shortest period over which values must be averaged to remove extraneous hydraulic effects, such as oscillations and surges. This reduces the raw data to, typically, 500 micro-period values and these expose the crucial details of the night flow.

Enigma - Multi-point correlation system for leak location

Enigma® is a state-of-the-art digital correlation logging system for determining the location of leaks in buried water pipes. Enigma combines noise logging and noise correlation into one operation to provide improved operational efficiency. Enigma loggers are deployed at multiple positions, typically on valves or hydrants, during normal working hours. They maybe programmed for either daytime or night-time operation. The loggers record the actual leak sound. When retrieved the leak sound is transferred to the host software where it is processed to display all leak positions between loggers. Programming and data readback utilises optical and USB communications to ensure rapid operation.
