Ultra 3&5 - Level Measurement and Volume Calculation for Industry

Pulsar Ultra 3&5 are designed for non-contacting ultrasonic  level measurement and contents gauging applications throughout the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, quarrying, power generation and many more industries. Ultra is compatible with any of the dB series of transducers, giving an effective range depending on transducer choice from as little as 125 mm right the way through to 40 metres, on solids or liquids. Volume calculations are made with a variety of pre-programmed and user configurable tank shapes or a custom linearisation of non-standard tank shapes. Like all Ultra systems, Ultra 3& 5 benefit from DATEM echo processing software for unparalleled reliability of measurement. Ultra 3&5 are available in wall, panel, fascia or rack mount versions.

Zenith 140 - Pump Station Controller

Zenith is a new generation pump station control system, designed to integrate many of the functions that would usually be undertaken by a level controller and a PLC combined into a single unit. At it’s heart is a highly sophisticated non-contacting ultrasonic pump control system, but Zenith has also been developed with the requirements of “Sewers for Adoption 5th Edition” in mind. It therefore incorporates not only digital and analogue outputs, but also digital inputs so that pump performance, valve opening and other station operations can be monitored and reported on. Zenith also incorporates tariff avoidance software, capable of making considerable electricity cost savings by actively (and intelligently) avoiding operation during periods of maximum electricity charges.

Blackbox with Integral Display - Component Non-Contacting Level Monitoring with Integrated Readout

Blackbox is Pulsar’s component non-contacting ultrasonic level measurement and control range, fitting between the selfcontained IMP and the high specification Ultra 3 & Ultra 5 for volume monitoring, pump control and open channel flow measurement. Blackbox units are available with a variety of output options: 2 control relays, 4-20mA, or RS485 digital output (see separate information sheet). Programming options include: PC software download, removable hand-held programming unit and now the further option of an integral keypad and display.

Pulsar IMP Non-Contacting Measurement

IMP from Pulsar is non-contacting ultrasonic measurement without compromise. All-in-one self contained units with the benefit of digital echo processing specially designed for IMP. IMP can be programmed via the integral keypad or using IMP PC, IMP's specially designed software. IMP is available in 3m, 6m and 10m versions, and each unit is configurable either as a 2 or 3 wire device. IMP is also available as an Intrinsically Safe (I.S.) unit, with a distinctive black cap instead of green, meeting ATEX EEx ia IIC T4 and IECEx.

Pulsar dB Transducer Series

Pulsar's innovative dB range of transducers has taken ultrasonic level measurement into a new era. Unlike the high voltage, frequency dependent transducers of other manufacturers, which require special, protected interconnect cables, or low powered transducers built with intrinsic safety rather than performance in mind, the dB series combines low electrical power that meets intrinsic safety requirements with extraordinary high sonic power to give range and performance. Short blanking distances and narrow beam angles improve performance, especially when the signals are being analysed by Pulsar's amazing DATEM software. Options are available for cable mounting, flange mountings and hygenic fittings (please contact us for information on a specific application) , and an aiming kit is available for solids measurement applications.

Sludge Finder - effective sludge level detection and control

Sludge Finder is a reliable, effective sludge interface monitor. A single controller may be used to measure up to four tanks. Sludge Finder uses an underwater acoustic sensor to provide continuous, reliable sludge level detection that lets you reduce pumping, optimise dosing and gives staff time to concentrate on other things.

DATEM Digital Adaptive Tracking of Echo Movement

DATEM underpins the success of Pulsar's non-contacting ultrasonic level measurement systems. It uses a sophisticated algorithm to allow the system to discriminate between competing echoes in an application. In most applications the signal that comes back to the control unit, when displayed on an oscilloscope, resembles a mountain range, with many competing peaks. DATEM makes sense of that and zeroes in on the true echo, which it then tracks. That way, no matter how large a competing echo happens to be, even if it is larger than the true echo, and no matter how many competing echoes there are, DATEM will still follow the true echo.
