The KAM MID Microwave Interface Detector provides the user with unparalleled accuracy and resolution through the use of patented microwave technology. The KAM MID can be easily inserted into the pipe or the tank through a hot tap without having to drain the pipe or the tank. This reduces the expense of installation as there is no need for a bypass loop. KAM MID inserts into the liquid stream, and continuously measures the water content of the fluid. The measurement is fully automatic, requiring no operator intervention. The 4 to 20mA output signal can be sent to Flow Computers, PLC's or to a Central Control Room for data logging or display on chart recorders or monitors.
   

The KAM MID has no moving parts and is designed to provide the user with years of reliable, accurate and trouble free performance. KAM MID is the only insertable / retractable device in the world today that can be taken in and out of the pipe or the tank without having to drain the pipe or tank. The KAM MID can be inserted through a 1 1/4", 2" or 3" hot tap without having to shut down the pipeline or taking the tank out of service. All wetted parts of the KAM MID are of 316 stainless steel as standard.

The KAM MID utilizes an internal reference to automatically self calibrate / verify its own performance by compensating for any drift that maybe caused by the aging of the electronics components due to atmospheric, fluid pressure & temperature fluctuations.

In accordance with the API (American Petroleum Institute), the highest degree of accuracy is achieved when flow in the pipeline is homogenous. If the flow is not homogenous, a KAM SMP patented Static Mixing Plate, or KAM SMS Static Mixing Spool can be installed upstream of the KAM MID to homogenize the flow for better accuracy.

On site the KAM MID can be calibrated with the KAM PKF Portable Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzer to achieve the highest degree of accuracy. The KAM MID can be calibrated with a PC or Palm Pilot via an IR port."
